You can see up to 3 effects at once with the default skin, lol!! And you already know that you can have as many effect slots as you want when making a custom skin.

I'm still having a little issue and I hope SCS.1d gurus here will know what's up. First, this issue doesn't occur in Traktor so I guess it's not hardware related, but more something with the calibration of the scs.1d platter. When the platter is spinning, there's a little "wobble" or "small pitch change" every round it makes. Like I play a track and the pitch goes up (like 2%) for a second then goes back to normal, then goes back up, then normal... Is it something I could fix in the preferences? Like the platter sensitivity or such?

Unfortunately this is a known issue with the SCS.1d and there is no workaround available at present.

Well, now that's bad... I'll cancel my subscription until the issue is fixed. Everything was fine with VDJ7...
 
Don't feel bad though my 5500's still don't work either....... I guess when it comes to motorized platters VDJ just can't cut it. This seems to be an on going problem that I don't see being fixed any time soon .........
 
Looks like the latest beta build has "some improvement" to the SCS.1D

Maybe we need to get a seven page thread going for the Denon HS-5500 :-)
 
Indeed, the pitch wobble is gone with the SCS.1d now as far as I can see.

I am however seeing a strange issue with platter adjustments - minor adjustments seem to be 'carried on' and thus make a deck run faster or slower than a reference deck at the same speed. I've forwarded my observations to the development team.

The HS-5500 'speedup' issue is the only issue I'm aware of with that controller, and that affects the other Denon motorised controllers too.
 
I'm selling my SCS.1 system, since I can't use it on VDJ.

It is so BAD that a contoller like this is years ahead than the softwares can do.
And it was built on 2008.
What could Stanton came up these days if the market woldn't be full with toy-like, price sensitive 'products' for guys like: "Oh, I AM a DJ too.... well 1 week ago"

I wonder how VDJ worx with the Numark NS7 II .... compared to Serato, where it worx like is should.

Too bad, that Stanton does not makes an MKII from the SCS.1 ... with USB and as Numark did ... offering (some kind of) upgrade for those, that bought the mk 1 before.

Shame on you Stanton ... you killed your "flagship controller"

Your right Scott that is the ONLY problem I can find with my 5500's. If and once that gets fixed I'll make the switch back to 8. Until then I'll use my Mixdeck quad or just SDJ.
 
Where can I download this beta build with the SCS.1D wobble issue fixed?
 
You need "Get Beta Builds" enabled in your user account - then you enable the beta option on the computer you want to use beta versions and it will autoupdate to beta versions as they are released.

Give your platters some time to warm up. I have the same issue but for me it goes away after about 5-10 minutes. I like to turn them on without loading VDJ while I set everything else up so the motors can spin freely for a few minutes to stabilize. Usually by the time I'm good to go the wobble's gone.

Another thing that helps is to go into the 1D's settings and crank up the torque. To do this, power on your unit(s) with no DJ software running, then press Settings. Turn the first knob from the left at the top center of the deck until you find the Torque setting, then crank the second knob up until the wobble goes away (for me it's usually near or at the highest setting).

Lastly, I've noticed that the wobble will gradually go away as you use your 1D(s) more often. After about 3-4 months of use my units barely wobble at all.

Thanks a lot, I'll try this tonight! As for the torque settings, it is already at its highest since I scratch alot and wanted the most turntable-like performance from the 1D. I don't work at the club anymore, so when I get on the decks I usually just turn them on and play away, but now that you're saying this I remember that after a few minutes it seems to go away. But I think that's weird that this wobble is non-existent in Traktor even if I fire up my deck and start playing right away.

Oh well, thanks again, I'll let you know if it worked!
 
Ok so since the new update, everything works fine again. I gotta say I'm REALLY impressed by VDJ support staff, you are awesome!

exactly! in TP2 or Mixxx, there is no pitchwarble, I remember when I bought the deck brand new, on the first weeks the deck needed to "warm-up" for a couple of mins or I would have that "picthwarble", but it graddually disapeared after a few weeks, maybe because my deck was in box/in store since 2008/10?I dont know...

in TP2 or Mixxx the platter speeds up slows down when moving the tempo fader,that does not happen in VDJ7/8
 
hi, i purchased a second hand sc system 1 console, i think at the moment mixxx is better in handling the SCS.1d and the motors (speed and rotation direction) are synchronized with the software too.
ON vdj 7/8 it's not bad using the vinyl mode for scratching, but keeping music in sync while manually mixing is painful.
If with mixxx it works fine, it can in vdj too.
On the wiki page of mixxx, there is the xml file used to control the scs.1d, still not investigated it, but i see a "platter section" where the realtime system message 0xf9 is used and maybe this can be the point to control the platter in the right way.
Hope to see some improvement in the future for this underestimated controller.

I only own one deck,I'm working on a mapper for the scs1m like TraktorP2 to control 4 decks,
I can mix fine with one deck(rotating), sometimes I get some pitch drift(speed up) when switching between decks if one is stopped,I'm using version 1.845 wich had an update for the SCS1d deck pitchwarble issue,maybe they will have some more attention in future updates.
