There are deejays that are beginning to explore the possibilities of working with a touch screen, instead of the traditional hardware, like mixers, cdj players, etc.
At first, the lack of instant reponse was the biggest flaw of the touch screen technology. This is not an issue anymore, if used on computers with adecuate resources.
There is a second important flaw however: touch interfaces do not yet provide the same controlling possibilities as the hardware. The Emulator Modular software by Pablo Martin, which will provide multi-touch capabilities to VDJ, is certainly a start, but it is not enough, at least not for me. I'll explain:
There are two things I really LOVE about VDJ: the video mixing capability and the skinning capability. In fact, they are the reasons why I bought the software! With the Emulator Modular, you cannot use the skin you like so much (I made mine to be perfect for my needs) AND only 2 decks are supported. To limited for my use, I'm afraid.
So here's my thoughts: It should not be so difficult to include in the VDJ software a virtual MIDI controller (which is what Emulator Modular is) that is selectable from the settings menu, giving the VDJ software that dual touch capability that touch screen users are craving for: being able to use both hands when DJ-ing! I mean, Windows 7 (and newer) allows (and invites for) such technology...
And if it were integrated in the software, such a virtual MIDI controller would be able to support multiple decks and all VDJ skins! It would be... PERFECT!
Or am I missing something?

I get very touchy with my IPADS and IPODS....multi touchscreen goodness, i"m able to connect multiple devices at once and use their touchscreens and it keeps me video card free so I can use the output to mix videos if I wanted.

Thanx for posting guys, but a kind REMINDER: the topic is DUAL (MULTI) TOUCH CAPABILITY in the Virtual DJ software, a.k.a. an integrated selectable virtual MIDI controller, providing just that: for touch screen users to use both hands (fingers) at the controls.
Anyone...?
Anyone...?

How soon will VDJ come out with their own version of touch software?I am considering a Lennovo Touch pad . It is only 12 1/2 in.screen size. Would that do?

The bigger the screen, the bigger the buttons can be and the more butons there can be...
