Hello,
I'm new to Virtual DJ having just downloaded the free version. My question is, can I record a hour long set without having to do it all in one go? Is it possible to record a few tracks now and then cue others up and then press continue and carry on where I left off. At the moment it just keeps on overwriting what I have done so far? I would like to creat a hour worth in one separate file.
Thanks for any help.

so rename the new part in the config. record your first part as part 1 and the second as part 2 etc. either that or move/rename your first part to correspond with which part is which.

I use the record feature sometimes during a special speech or singing.
I rename each track when done.
I think it would be better if VDJ records on a default filename, then when you press STOP recording, a window pops up and ask you to NAME/RENAME the file (something along this lines).

It already does do that, a window pops up and ask if you overwrite the file.............if you don't you'd then open record config and type in a new name...........

yea I know you name the file before recording.
If you accidently press record, you will prompted if you want to overwrite (Y/N). If you press "NO" then you need to click on config and name the file.
I was going for an instant ASK the filename if the answer is "NO" (saves some step).
OR just press record at anytime and then ask the FILENAME after you press STOP recording.
Other than that, it's really no biggie. I just thought iit could same some steps.

Yeah I see your point and I agree. With some other software you name it after you've recorded it which is nice!! Maybe post this in the wishes forum, can't hurt and never know it could become a reality.

ive had some issues surrounding this in the past. at one point, the software seemed to record each session under a different name, eg. latest set 0001, 0002, 0003 etc.. for some reason this wasnt a permanent thing.
i do feel however that is should be. maybe it could be impemented into the next version.
