Hi guys
I am having an issue with my cross fader
set up
1200's
External Gemini mixer
maya44 usb hub
When i am playing i can cross fader using the external mixer, and it sounds fine (left/right deck go off as they should), but when i am broadcasting, the listeners can hear both tracks no matter what i do, i can put the cross fade left/right, the channel vol up and down, it makes no difference
when i move the external mixers cross fader, nothing happens in VDJ
when i move the vol on the external mixer channel up/down nothing happens
so it appears the controlling of the external mixer is not being transferred to vdj
I am supposed to be broadcasting tonight, but wont be doing anything unless i sort it out!!!!!!!!

you need to route the audio from the master back into virtual dj so it can be broadcast, setup a "record loopback" in advanced config

If your using vdj 6 I don't know how you would set it up, advanced config and record loopback were introduced for vdj 7.0, so yeah it looks like you will need a midi mixer... or you could try the home version and switch it to the pro trial and you would be able to set it up in advanced config its in the download section

if you buy i legit you get 50% off upgrading to pro so if you think about it a rmx second hand is about $200 on a good day (ebay) and vdj pro is $300 whereas a rmx new with a warranty is $300 and pro is $150 so you could save $50 that way...

i can get a hercules midi mixer for about £50 off ebay, i need a new mixer anyway, so seems to be the cheapest route atm

I know Ebay sounds great but if you buy it used and they have already registered the software your in the same boat. You really should buy brand new.

not sure what you mean? do you get software with the hercules?

New consoles include free Hercules DJ Console Edition that can be registered with us and allows you to upgrade to the full Pro at a discount.
Once registered, the software is not transferable, so you will probably find that a second hand console does not include the installation CD, and if it does then it will already be registered in most cases by its previous owner, so you won't be able to register to get software updates, upgrade discount to Pro, etc.

It don't matter now guys, i got it to work using a normal mixer
MAYA44 USB to connect decks with VDJ
External mixer then connects to onboard soundcard via phono>3.5mm jack plug
then simplecast to broadcast sound instead of using VDJ to broadcast
thanks for all your help
