I agree!! Other than my lasers (which are all the latest gen that don't need duty cycles either) I run nothing but LED lighting. It is so much better than back in the day when I had to deal with tripped breakers, duty cycles and replacing expensive halogen bulbs. LED has come a long way and is very bright and effective these days.
Thanks for the input DJ City...

Tripped breakers? Yeah happened to me last Saturday. I played in a room that had a stage with quad outlets on each side.
I plugged my sound system in the outlets on the left side. And lights & LCD TV on the right side thinking I was in 2 different circuits. Guess what happened when the party got going?
The electricians that wired this suck stink cheese and obviously did not wire to code. I ended up running another cord to a wall outlet on the far side of the room... while the crowd waited for the music and videos.
The rest if the night went perfect. But I never like hearing boos and waahs from the crowd.
It was just frustrating to supposedly split the load, and then find out all those stupid stage outlets were on one stinking circuit.

+1 for LEDs and Lasers all the way, but I have a few hallogens that I will use till the day they die.

I had too many years of bad memories of tripped breakers, replacing expensive bulbs and duty cycles with my old halogen lights. They are someone else's nightmare since I got rid of 'em a long time ago! I have not one time in the last 2 1/2 years since I have gone LED had one issue, ever....

What lasers are you using?

Reminds me, whatever happened with DMX support and virtualDJ? I mean, how cool would it be to set scene changes on your songs just like queue points, where ever you go, your light show will allways be in perfect sync and way more interesting than manual or auto operation!

The plus models are a lot better than the original X-Move/X-Scan products which had issues - including an extremely short lifespan. I've got 6 sat on a shelf all requiring new LEDs.

Very nice light. Could be in my future.

I have been DJing for 16 years and have never had experience with duty cycle's although the Americans on these boards go on about them all the time, I now believe it's something to do with your electricity supply not been as modern as ours.
By the way there are some projector scanners coming out that will blow your mind.

I have these lights in 2 different clubs. The plus version replaced the original because the led would go out after about 400 hours of use. Bad thing about these lights is when the bulb goes out you can't change it. You can however send it in to the repair department at ADJ and they will fix it for free. 3 Year warranty on the led is great as well as quick customer service.
The fans and the led's on these units are very sensitive to power surge's so be sure that they are hooked up to an electrical conditioner or you will be doing lots of service repairs.
They are not nearly as bright as halogen lights but if you have fog or haze in the room they will do just fine.

The are two important differences between the X-Move Plus and the new X-Move Plus R. The "R" stands for the rotating GOBOs which isn't a feature on the Plus. The other difference is ADJ is using a different better LED from another manufacturer. This new LED is much brighter, has a longer life and is more advanced than the one in the Plus even though the wattage is the same.
