Hello!

First: a realy nice pic:


Ok as you see the LCD is working!!! You don't need automap. I've got the syntax of automap in a MIDI dev XML!!!

So next step would be to mapp the controller buttons and slider (much better ^^)

So where are the SL users? I could mapp it every single butten for samplers (i think this is the best usage for the device)
or a deck mapping

oh, it's a quite cool device:

Novation SL MKII ZeRO

8x Encoder with LED rings around it
8x knob slider
8x Vertical Slider
8x Pads
32x Buttons with LEDs
1x Crossfader
 
Wow, that looks great for controling the vdj sampler and effects. I'm amazed nobody else on the forum has mentioned this before. :D

i just got the gemini ctrl six and vdj pro and ive got the same novation remote sl as you (been using it with logic and reason since), and ive been trying to use it as a sampler and a multi track cue and mixer but i cant seem to get vdj to recognize it... any help? i know how to map the controls i just cant get there.

With your LE version this would not be possible....

I'm workin on the Mapping and i hope i'll finish it as soon as possible.... To use the SL MK2 ZeRO you have to buy / upgrade to a legal Pro Version of VDJ 7

Otherwise there is no chance to load the device in VDJ.
 
I actually have bought the full pro version, and it lets me download plug-ins and all, but for some reason it just doesn't show that I have. Anyways I would be very interested in seeing how you map your controller with vdjscript and how you have created the lcd screen with the active decks and all that (RemoteSLEditor software im assuming?), it's a little beyond my comprehension of the syntax commands. I think i would sit at my computer for days if I had my novation remote working exactly how I want it in VDJ so your help would be much appreciated.
 
Well, this is not a spetial software sorry.... The Zero i forced to abliton mode and der devixe XML (not the mapper) emulates a custom Automap. The whole is done in with MIDI sysex and is verry complex. Ive a software called "synthmaker" to test those sysex strings on the devices and see how they react on spetial commands.

But there are eaven some problems to solve, and then i'll release the device deffinition file on the site here. actualy you may have to script the VDJ script mappings yourselve, because i dont know if the users want it for samplers or for deck remote. and also another problem... there are not realy much VDJ users that are using the Zero.

You will need to register the Pro serial number on the page http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html

Your LE version will allow you to download skins, effects and samples, but in VirtualDJ LE these cannot be used except during the 20 day trial of VirtualDJ Pro.

To be able to download mappers and tools as well as the latest full VirtualDJ Pro, you will need to register your Pro license.
 
Yep, just registered the serial and all is well... and I am still a bit confused Chackl, you created a custom .xml file bypassing automap for the led? Sorry if I'm bugging you man, I'm new to most of this, automap has taken care of most of my needs in reason and logic.
 
Yes, but you don't need automat in VDJ because VDJ hase its own mapper and deffinitions. another poit: with automap you won't get de LCD working. this is only possible in ableton mode. (preset 20 on the device i think)

BUT: whe i release the deffinitions and the mapping you'l need the pro serial registered to be able to download those files ;)

i was wondering if i can get any help on mapping effects to buttons for my novation remote sl 37? ive got the eight button pads working as a drum pad which is good and used four of the keys as piano sample pads for stutter play and what not. though im a little lost on mapping for effects and other opportunities.
 
 
How do get novation to be detected by vdj
 
it should show up in the simple midi wrapper section where you'll have to map it to the way you like or you could create an xml like chakl did
 

I sit with a Novation Zero SL MkII and have created a device XML, and a mapper file. I wonder if anyone would help me with the syntax and definitions in XML device
I have no problem with the buttons, knobs and sliders, just LED and LCD.
Please help me ....
