I don't DJ enough to warrant a bigger rig. Been using 2 ipods and an IDJ2 for a while. (yikes) And would like to dedicate my laptop to the cause.
The new DJ2GO looks pretty good, small and portable for me even though I'm sure it's not up to your guys' standards. However my questions ares about the software:
1. The VDJ product that the rep says is shipping with this unit is some "Lite" version that seems even more stripped down than LE. is this correct? Does anyone know?
2. I that's the case - can i assume it can be upgraded to a beefier version of the software and will it still offer maps for the DJ2GO?
3. Does any version of this software simulate 'scratching'? And is it just a function you can map to the 'platters' or in this case jog wheels? Or do you need a different controller for that?
Thanks

I'm gonna take a stab at your question. Its been my experience that you can usually upgrade to VDJ Pro from the lower versions, that shouldn't be a problem.
"Included with DJ2GO is a special edition of Virtual DJ software, designed to mate perfectly with the capabilities of the controller, so you can pick up DJ2GO and literally start performing on the spot. Because DJ2GO is MIDI-compliant, it can be used easily with virtually any DJ software by simply re-mapping the controls in the applicable application. You need only to connect the included USB cable to their Mac or PC and install the software to be up and running."
Far as mapping the jog wheels for scratching, I wouldn't expect something for $60 to allow scratching ability.
In my opinion, if this little device is gonna make your gigs easier and fun, go for it. But if theres a chance you may take DJ'ing to the next level in the future, I'd skip this device and go for the VDJ Pro version now. You'll never get the most of out what VDJ has to offer with anything less than the Full Pro Version, and thats the heartbeat of any set-up.
Good luck with your decision!

Correct it matches the controls 1:1 on screen.

Correct if you want and yes it is supported in Pro.

Correct you can map this in Pro. The default behavior in LE Light is Pitch bend when playing and scratch when paused.

Jog Wheel scratching is possible with the DJ2GO. It isn't very reliable in VDJ LE Lite because it suddenly stops scratching and turns into pitch bend randomly. When using DJ2GO with VDJ Pro 7 or Home (only usable for 10 minutes) scratching is reliable. The lights on the DJ2GO are also synchronized with VDJ so it looks very cool.
