When I try to connect the Hercules Rmx to virtual dj pro (and dj console) I get an error message saying that there is a problem with the ASIO soundcard or that the setting are incorrect. I have the right configuration in virtual dj (no input, 12:speaker 34:headphone, rmx soundcard) and am starting to think this is a hardware problem. I have reinstalled the latest drivers and the virtual dj software that came with it but the problem is still here. Any advice or should I just try and act on the warranty. Thanks in advance

Part of the problem is due some configuration conflict between the 2 VDJ versions installed.
I would suggest uninstalling VDJ and start anew:
- From the first window of the installer, select CUSTOM
- for every subsequent windows, choose SELECT ALL for every following ones
This will insure that all fines related to the software are removed ( the folder Virtual DJ should not be present in Document once the uninstall is complete).
Then reinstall using the latest version of VDJ Pro.
Once done, configure the audio in VDJ
- Input : Select accordingly if you use Timecode of external sources
- Output(s): Headphone > Master Chan1/2 / headphone Chan3/4
-Soundcard: DJ Console Rmx
Note that if you use timecode or any sort of inputs, the Rmx will always work in ASIO ( it should change automatically upon launch and closing of VDJ).

I followed your guidelines about completely uninstalling virtual dj but I still get the same error message about the ASIO soundcard. Is there anything else you recommend?

If you are using Windows, in the system tray there should be a Hercules control panel.
If you open this panel up you should see and option at the bottom to choose either ASIO or WDM. Make sure that ASIO is selected (and change to your desired settings under the ASIO tab).
Open up VDJ and have ASIO selected in sound config (with Hercules ASIO selected in the drop down... if this is the only asio driver you have installed it should default to that).

Yea, I've tried that as well but still no luck. I've also been going back and forth with the Hercules tech support and haven't been able to find a solution yet. If there are more suggestions, I certainly welcome them. Thanks

It may be worth your while changing the Hercules control panel to WDM and using the non ASIO option in VDJ...
Unless you've already tried this?

Thank both of you very much. Your help was instrumental. I didn't realize I was missing the asio thing at the bottom instead of the rmx soundcard but when I switched it, everything worked fine. Thanks to you, I'm off to making mixes.
