Decided to give my Numark Mixmeister controller a make over, now I'm using it for 4 deck control of Virtual DJ Pro V7. I used the colour scheme that Numark have applied to the Red Wave headphones...I just happen to like it :)
The 4DMC is just a name I chose...it stands for 4 Deck Midi Controller.
Jobs still to do:
1) Colour code the recessed channels that run across each decks EQ's so that they match VDJ's default skin colours - Deck 1: Blue / Deck 2: Red / Deck 3: Green / Deck 4: Yellow.
2) Get some custom graphics made - Numark logo, 4DMC logo and 45rpm adapter logo.
Anyway, here are some pics.

That 4DMC Looks Great!! Try to get a 45 adaptor sticker for it too.

Just on my way out to get the graphics sorted...I've got a Numark logo EPS file (from Numarks website) and a 45RPM adapter EPS file...so they should be able to produce what I want.
I am going to have the Numark and 4DMC logo's in black on the red covers and a red 45RPM adapter on the jog wheel as well as red Numark logo above the upper transport controls.
@ Huey...I used Plasti-Kote fast drying enamel spray paint - Black: 101SF Flat Black and Red: 106S Insignia Red.
Taking the controller apart is a little tricky (make sure you remember where each screw goes...I didn't and I've used the wrong length screws to hold in the LED rings around the volume controls...they have made tiny little bulges in the top surface...grrrrrrrrrr...oh and there are a lot of screws!!!!!!

Here are some pics of the finished pimping...Sorry for the quality of the pics...the iPhone camera is rubbish
oh and the guy at the vinyl graphics shop thought that 45 adapter wouldn't stick to the jog wheel, so ended up putting it as shown...not sure I like though...

As a follow up...whilst I had it apart for re-painting, I did consider changing out some of the LED's so as to colour code them to the deck colours and other various LEDS...but they are tiny, tiny, tiny things...and I have no doubt that I would end up with a non-working controller.
Huey...yeah...the more I look at, the more I don't like it's position...I can see a call to the graphics shop in the morning - thankfully he saved the graphics files, so he can just cut some new vinyl.
My thought now is to have the 45 adapter graphic made, but use the out bit (that's normally thrown away) and use it as a mask to paint the jogwheel.

I found the perfect bag.

@ DJNuts...can you fit a laptop, cables, sounds cards, etc and the controller in the Live Gig bag?
Posted Mon 24 Jan 11 @ 3:51 am
Depends on how many cables...I have a 15.6 lappy and I could get everything in the Line 6 bag...

sai, i think the 45 symbol would look pretty mean on the jogwheel.
Posted Mon 24 Jan 11 @ 2:38 pm
Blulite...I did think that...but I've removed the 45RPM logo now and I'm not sure I'll bother putting another one on.
Since the pics, I've "ghetto'd" it up...rubbed the sharp edges gently with a scotchpad and spent an hour or so rotating every knob to wear the black paint away a bit...make it look used...lol
Must get some more pics...

I have another one of those bags in the store. I have never tried to fit my lappy in the front pocket. It might be wide enough, but not deep enough me thinks...I will test it out tomorrow.
I got my MMC tore apart and the first coat of flat black on it. I have a Behringer UAC100 I am going to mod into it I think. Gonna add another USB jack and what not...I'll document the process with pics. I will not be adding any other graphics to mine tho. I like the simple black look. I am tossing around the idea of adding weight to the jogwheel...
