I, for one, think that all these "beginner" DJ Controllers can do nothing but good.
I wouldn't say that!
It could also mean that we end up with way more "beer money" DJs who turn up with a netbook, one of these controllers and a pair of speakers from Maplin, and think they're God's gift.....
We've got enough cowboys as it is, without making it even easier for them!

I understand you sentiments...but as always it's the skill of the DJ that makes the difference...

That's right, fancy controller doesn't give you skill. So if you feel threatened by that dude with a so called cheap controller, step your game or get stomped out!!

@groovindj - Your statement makes it sound like there is a shortage of DJ gigs .... with ALL the technology out here ... it should inspire one to increase the creativity therefore attracting more opportunities
If clients want "beer money djs" for their events ... then why would you want to except that kind of gig?
There are people in the world who know quality and don't mind paying for it.
Focus on your talent and not what some "beer money DJ" could do with a simplified controller.
This is not a personal attack ... just participating in the discussion. :)

this message is for groovindj about when he said
"There have been a few messages on here recently, from people who didn't realise that their laptops can't play and cue at the same time."
mine can simple way to solve that problem is with two sound cards and then go into sound setup. and split the decks.... not to mention you can also open up more then one virtual dj (external soundcards work great

I meant the laptops as they stand. Out of the box.
Yes of course there's no problem once you add a second sound card, but I don't think a laptop exists* that has two already built in!
*apart from the custom built DJ specific ones such as the OODJ.

Hey Guys. I'm new here. I mostly just read yall posts. I just got my hands on numark dj 2 go. As a dj that travels alot it sure beats just clicking and pressing keys on my laptop. Its hard to sort out the mappers at first with numark cue. Which I absolutely love with my Numark virtual vinyl IO. but i got the numark dj IO sound card which is very nice in sound quality. Although the numark dj 2 go is a bit of a baby controller its nothing less of professional with d dj IO sound card they make a great team if you travel alot. I use mine on my radio shows now and its has no let me down yet.

Just got a NuMark DJ2GO (with VDJ LE) as a way to not becoming a fossil DJ (DJing for 17+ years)...I like to mix within the headphones. Is there a way to hear the Main in one earpiece and the cued-up track in the other earpiece? - basically split the sound out of the 'mixer'. I've read posts that state I may need a second soundcard in my laptop - if this is the case, then fine...just need to know. I'm going to be using a Dell Inspiron/Pentium Dual Core/64-bit OS/IDT Hi Def Codec sound card/Windows 7 Home Edition. Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking about this for my first ultra mobile dj kit.
Numark DJ2GO
External 6ch Sound Card (GSTAR UB-003) - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gstar-Multimedia-Sound-Solution-UB-003/dp/B0023AMN7I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314020268&sr=8-1
Numark M4 Mixer
200W Speaker Amplifier
2 x 100W Passive Speakers
Any cheap DJ Headphones.
Should I stick with this, or should I choose an all-in-one controller? I choosing this because its cheap. I already have Virtual DJ Pro 7.

Hi do i need a sound cardo for use the Numark DJ2GO with my Laptop?
Posted Sun 11 Sep 11 @ 7:07 am
Hi, if you'd like to have one song playing and then listen to the next song in your headphones before you play it (a big part of DJ'ing!) then yes you'll need some sort of sound card.

What the hell I just grabbed one. $48. I have jeans more expensive than that. Perfect backup for when my DAC2 decides it wants to flake out.
Actually i'm headed to do a club gig this weekend. Bring your own laptop (they give you amount of room for 1 laptop too). CAn't bring my big rig out. Could come in handy.

These things are alright, I was down to play a party last Saturday and it was booked last year but my CDJs broke on the Wednesday :/ So I just hopped on eBay and grabbed one of these for £35 and I'm quite certain that my actual DJing was smoother and a lot nicer. But I apologized to the host but she was like 'NOOO! It's fine, you sounded great!' And then she looked at the controller which I was carrying and pulled an expression as if to say 'Wait a second, you played that set, with that?! Wtf?'

I use my Dj2go as a backup system, could be used as a main I guess. I used a pair of Numark PHx usb headphones for cueing and the the laptops soundcard for the master out. Sounds pretty good, I dont have to use an external soundcard.
