Topic: How to use automix to switch from deck A to B, 9 sec crossfade

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have not been able to figure out how to auto crossfade between decks. The automix works only on deck A and has no transition between decks and drops the hamer at the end of each song, not very professional. I have used PCDJ for years and when you set automix it loads both decks and the crossfade is natural and smooth between deck A and B. Please help!

Click on the little plus sign in the automix area and change the settings. I use Fade (Remove Silence) or somethin like that then you go down one or to to the mix length, I use 8 in that setting.

the automix between deck a and b has been gone for some time. it only uses one deck so you have a deck free so you could jump in anytime and start mixing live

Make a keyboard shortcut and type in
"Automix_dualdeck"
Now it will mix between deck a and deck b

Hope that helps

Please be aware that dual deck automix is depreciated and its use is not recommended.

We would strongly recommend using the new and more powerful single deck automix that has been present in VirtualDJ for a long time now.

I think VirtualDJ is the best thing since sliced bread but why can’t you have the option to use properly the Automix function as well as the new way, its more like proper DJing, the new way is just lazy me thinks.

The old dual deck method was replaced a long time ago in the software with the new single deck method and will not be returning. This has been discussed at length in the forums in the past.

However, you can still enable dual deck by mapping the automix_dualdeck action to a keyboard shortcut.

However, this is depreciated. The single deck automix has more flexible/advanced automixing options.

what has automix got to do with proper djing, use of automix is not djing at all, it's just an aid if you need to do something else.
