I know this function works OK if you move the EXACT same file twice into your Playlist. However, it does not detect as duplicates those entries that have the same artist and song title (and other tags, like Year, and Genre) with the exact same spelling between them but are physically different files.
I would love if VDJ could recognize these as duplicates also...

+1 for the most part, this is very similar to what I was talking about last week. My idea would find the duplicate songs and mark as played if any one of the song name were played. For example "Sexy Chick" the video was played, it would also mark the song as played (even though the song file was not played, the video was).
So along the same lines finding duplicates.
