I have a Toshiba Satellite A505 with Intel Core i7 Q720 @1.60ghz 4gb ram 64-bit os which I bought in January 2010. Today I bought the Hercules RMX. Installed the drivers from the cd (1.0.0.4.), then updated it with latest drivers which is 1.0.0.5. Then I installed Virtual DJ 5.2.2 from the cd. When I tried to play I noticed that when I am monitoring one side, both sides come through the speakers. I mean If I play one song on deck A, that same song plays on the headphones and I can't hear the other deck (whatever comes out on the speakers is the same in the headphones). Since its a LE version I could not modify the audio setup so Then I decided to download VDJ6 and my problems got worse. Once I downloaded it, when I clicked on the icon to open it would immediately give me this message: Error in the Asio sound driver. I clicked ok, VDJ6 opened and I put a song on deck A and another on deck B and hit play but nothing would happen, play button showed as it was pressed but no sound at all. Then I turned off and back on and the same thing would happen, the same song would play in speakers and headphones, but VDJ6 would shut off after playing for about 30 seconds. I have installed and uninstalled both VDJ and Hercules RMX drivers for about 10 times and it never works. I checked the sound setup on VDJ6 input=none output=headphones and I also checked the Hercules dj series and the Asio option is enabled (not WDM, I actually tried both and nothing worked). Right now I have VDJ 5.2.2. (from cd) and VDJ6 which I installed from internet with Hercules only working on VDJ 5.2.2. with the headphone problems. VDJ6 keeps giving me the Asio driver error and shuts off after a 30 to 60 seconds. I'm thinking of returning this product now.

Do you have a second sound card? Like a USB external sound card?
set it up like this:
Master..........1st card....your laptops internal sound card.
headphones..2nd card...usb external sound card.
I dont know about the shutting off part.

@ DJohsy
Can you please confirm a few things using the LE version (5.2.2)
- Are your speakers connected to Output 1-2 on the back of the Rmx ?
- The Monitor knob (top right side, next to the headphone volume) is set to the CUE position ?
Now load a song on both decks. Place the crossfader on deck A. You should normally hear this deck on your speakers.
Now put on your headphone, and using the CUE SELECT buttons, switch between one deck to the other. Is this working correctly ?
BTW, you if want to know the exact driver version you have installed, check in the DJ Control panel ABOUT tab. 1.0.0.5 is the version of the installation program...

I have the same exact laptop as you and I had the same exact problems you did. I updated the drivers too, but also update the firmware by unplugging the mixer, holding down the mic button, and plugging back in. The effects buttons don't work properly because of the vdjc. Check this thread,
http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/113813/Hardware_Technical_Support/Hercules_RMX_6-button_Effect_Set-up_with_VDJ_v6_0_1.html
, I had to resize the rmx style skin because our laptop doesn't go to that high of a resolution. My setup is like this...Input-none....output-single output....sound card-hercules rmx
I'm still having problems but I am sorting them out one by one....

I guess you you are not using VDJ LE included with the Rmx (since the audio configuration is not available) ?
If you want headphone preview, you should have this configuration:
- Input : None
- Output(s): Headphone > Master Chan1/2 / headphone Chan3/4
-Soundcard: DJ Console Rmx

Hello folks
I had the problem where my Hercules DJ Console RMX would not let me 'cue select' and the button would not light up. I rang Hercules and still had no joy. However, I tried the console on another machine and found the answer to my problem.
In the config screen of Virtual DJ make sure PFL have the command SELECT and not cue select. This corrected my problem. Happy happy joy joy!
