Win7 shows every file from my WD 1TB external hard drive... Mac however, shows the music files A - Z, but allot when clicked on don't come up in the main window. Example; I see AC/DC Black Ice on the left, click on it, nothing shows.... click on add to DB, nothing happens.
Everything allowing files to show is clicked "on" and I've tried adding my music file 100 times with no luck.
Now, the data base.... what are the contents of this supposed to look like, cause mine look like a blind drunk person got ahold of the keyboard and played it like a piano.
I need to get this issue resolved so I can utilize my entire library, any help!
Thanks~

WTF, I'm the only idiot with this problem?? Does every Mac user using a Western Digital external hard drive have the model that claims to be "for Mac"?? Guess I will try that, whats another $150...

I'm quite new to the Mac thing but it may be something to do with the file system your external drive is formatted in. I have had issues renaming Mac files from within windows and it's all to do with file system compatibility. Maybe there are issues with recognising certain non-standard characters as well? My VDJ database is perfect on both the Mac and windows versions and I can even convert one to another without any issues. Hopefully one of the Mac gurus will be able to help you before too much longer. Keith

Thanks Keith... I'm due for a bigger external anyway, so I'm gonna try one labeled for Mac and see how that works.

You should be able to reformat the WD drive in the MAC file structure using disk utility. This will delete everything and format for MAC use. Do you have Mac fuse installed? This program allows mac to read NTFS. Try this to see if the file structure is the issue.

Will try that right now, just tried to DL the mac drivers from WD and it didn't do squat... thanks for the info!

Hey there. I have noticed that VDJ can refer to I-tunes playlists & I use a 2TB WestDigi Drive & a Macbook Pro. There is a problem where sometimes VDJ will look @ those playlists & not see all the files in them. ie; An i-tunes playlist that has 10 tracks in it sometimes VDJ will see all 10 but sometimes it won't see any. I have tried looking at the 2TB properties & unlock at the bottom where it states drive permissions (or something like that). Re-booting, re-starting Mac and/or VDJ, ejecting & reconnecting 2TB. Sometimes it fixes the problem, but most recently it won't. You are not alone with this issue. Let's see who can help us before I do my Don Music impression.

I have had this issue for a long time with VDJ. First it started with just Karaoke files, but now it's all of my files. This is on my internal drive, external drive, new version, even downgraded to an older trusty version, yeilds no results.
I've repaired disk permissions.
I've allowed permissions to the .xml file (if you know computers well, you'll know this is the key problem and why VDJ has become inferior to Serato)
I've tried adding each folder manually (not really possible for Karaoke)
I've tried different HD's
I've uninstalled VDJ and erased my .xml file (yes, I lost all of my information, again, why VDJ sucks) and then completely reinstalled VDJ and then added the files to the database.
--------------
No dice.
--------------
What's worse is you can do a search for my post from several YEARS ago when I first had this problem, and I STILL have this problem with my Macbook Pro. I've been on here several times in help shootouts with admins and such, still no dice.
I've since been looking for an alternative program to Karaoke. I am now using Serato for DJ'ing and well, it makes VDJ look like a toy in pretty much every way. Information is stored in the id3 tag itself, not an .xml file, so pretty much every problem I have had with VDJ can't happen with Serato.
But still, I have hardware for VDJ that I'd like to use, and when VDJ works like it's supposed to, it's the best Karaoke program or Video Mixing Program I can find currently. It's sad to me that you rarely get a reply on these forums from anyone on Atomix team. Something goes wrong with Serato and you have an official reply in a matter of an hour, no joke.
But I digress. I'm just a DJ from socal that wants my shit to work... simply put. Make stuff that works and fix your problems that have existed with your program for YEARS Atomix, or eventually no one will use your product.
