Topic: Mixers with built in sound card?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I was wondering if there is a list of compatible mixers that have built in usb with sound card.

I'm looking to get a hip-hop/scratch mixer with built in sound card. I was looking at Vestax PMC-05-PRO-III-DX 2-Ch Mixer USB. I think this mixer is only compatible with Serato. Any other mixers out there?

I'm actually looking for a 2 channel scratch/hip hop mixer that has usb connection and built in sound card. I think the only option is to get the Vestax Mixer that I want with virtual vinyl or rane SL1. That would be awesome just to find something like the Rane TTM 57SL dedicated for Virtual Dj. I just don't want to use Serato since I love Virtual Dj and I really bought Pro version.

The vestax doesn't have a usb connection. Its just like any other mixer that has RCa's in and out.

@Caliente with the Vestax PMC-05-PRO-III-DX 2-Ch Mixer you can add a USB, heres the Description:

The world standard PMC-05Pro has evolved again. With additional input/output connection the PMC-05Pro3 DX can work with DJ software via audio interface, offers simple setup in clubs and enables DJs to switch their gear easily with other DJs. USB connection can be applied as an option by installing the TUB-1 USB board. DX Mode Connection The rear panel has the same input/output features as the PMC-05Pro3 VCA, available for turntables and CD players. Set the software control vinyl / CD to the player. Connect the output on the front panel to the audio interfaces LINE input and the audio interfaces output to the PGM 1 / 2 input on the front panel. Turn each PGM DX switch ON and connect the audio interface to the computer. DJs can switch their gear easily at clubs to the next DJ without stopping the sound by switching the PGM DX switch one by one. Features: The main control section is exactly the same as the HIP HOP / SCRATCH standard PMC-05Pro 3 VCA, which has well defined operability and reliability that outclass others. The main control section is exactly the same as the HIP HOP / SCRATCH standard PMC-05Pro 3 VCA, which has well defined operability and reliability that outclass others. The USB option board TUB-1 can be installed to the front panel in order to input audio signals via USB. The sound signal inputted via USB is assigned to PGM 1 by turning the DX switch and Option In switch ON. (Devices connected to INPUT PGM 1 on the front panel will have priority over USB) The CF monitor control & Master level fader have been moved closer to the top in order to free up more battle space around the cross fader for dynamic scratches and moves. The monitor sound can be selected from MASTER and CUE with the MONITOR SELECT SWITCH. Useful for monitoring before going on stage and practicing scratches on you own.

Here is a list of Vestax mixers it will work with:

VMC-002XLu / VMC-004XLu / VMC-004FXu
PMC-005ProlllDX
PMC-08Pro *) only in service
PMC-280

I myself dont understand how it works, lol, but I guess it does.

Both Hercules MK2 and RMX i know have built in cards. I have the mk2 and works great

Holy Crap that American Audio VMS4 Looks freaking sweet! 4 channels, just imagine =D. Wow I wish I hadn't have just bought a new RMX. Maybe with the money I've been saving from gigs I can get one, but then I have to buy Traktor too ugh.

@ BeatBreaker. I didnt see that when i looked for the model number. I just saw the word optional because they didn't show the usb piece. I was wondering.. What the ? but now it makes sense. The vestax with the usb piece would work. The Vestax mixer doesnt come with usb but when you buy the TUB-1 adpater for 99 dollars, it becomes a USB mixer.

To use an RMX or a Hercules as a soundcard.. No way.

The TUB-1 USB piece. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=501634&is=REG&A=details&Q=

Here is a link that shows you how to install the TUB-1 piece. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMf2pzwI1a8

@lcmxr6, the VMS4 will ship without Traktor and from what I understand there will be a mapper for it at some point...

Cheers,

Roy

You can count 2-channel scratch-mixers with a built-in sound card by one hand. If I were you, I'd get Mackie D.2 Pro. It's Firewire, not USB, though.
