Topic: Can you do anything to make vdj load song faster?

hi all well first i thank you for this great program,it's a dream become true, but there's one thing if u're playing a fast mixing over 16 0r 32 beat for every song,the problem is that u must wait until the song load to the cue u want and sometime take a little time so u can't mixed in the exacted point u plained to do. i've try to make the load option to never but when i make that the song did not mix well.
i think u can do something becausae when i was trying the Atomix it goes to the cues faster. i don't know waiting for ur reply because maybe i'm wrong so exuse me if i've to do something and i don't know what is it.

I believe that the speed for song loading is based on both the speed of your RAM and the speed of your cpu.

Upgrading either of those should make a difference.

As a work around, you could cut down your tracks ahead of time. Instead of loading a 10 minute song to only play 30 seconds of it, you could edit the audio into a tiny 45 second or 1 minute clip that contains the phrase you want to use for your mix.

The small clips should load much, much faster.
 
yep slow ram more so then cpu will cause this. However the 64's load tracks faster than any other processer i've ever seen.
 
i think u too are right becuase i've only 384mb of ram & win xp who is a vacium cleaner of rams lol:) i prefare win2k but there's lots of progs not compatible with it.

I think that the speed of your drive is the biggest factor in loading a song. Also, if you don't have enough memory, then Virtual Memory may be used which is really just caching to your drive... again leaving you at the mercy of the speed of your drive.
Processor shouldn't have anything to do with it, unless everything else slows down also when you load a song. You can use Windows' performance monitor to look for the bottleneck, but I bet you will have the best luck using a faster drive. In my setup, I use a firewire drive and average 5 minute songs load in less than 2 seconds normally.
 
MY SONGS LOAD REALY SLOW WHAT DO I DO?
 
sometimes not having effects turn on helps songs or videos load faster. try it and good luck.
