But now there's a VST plugin that enables scratching in Ableton Live.
When they release it, that could be all they need to get the SCS.1d flying off the shelves.
I know there's "The Bridge" but that involves running Scratch Live or Itch at the same time as Ableton Live, plus
it's tied in very tightly with hardware. Some hardware works with Itch, some with Scratch - it's a mess!

I test drove the Scs.1d at a trade show and it sucked ass for scratching, serious sticker drift. The concept was good but the performance was lackluster.

I saw a demo video for that plugin, and from what I saw the scratching still sucked. Besides, you shouldn't have to bridge your DJ software through Ableton Live in order to scratch properly, it should just work properly directly with the DJ software.

Itch works great but the UI sucks. Im not buying it unless they sell a non Itch version at a lower price.

The NS7, VCI-300, etc. use 14-bit MIDI which VirtualDJ fully supports.
Some user made mappers/definitions prior to official built-in support may have only used 7-bit (128 unique values.)
