Topic: Not able to See or Play " *.vob " Video Files in VDJ "Help"

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I'm Having a problem with *.vob Video files in VDJ after ripping my DVD's using Decripter 3.5.4.0.

When I open the folder in VDJ non of the files showed up in the browser, I know the files are there in explorer, but don't show up in VDJ?

Then from explorer I clicked on one file and had to point to WMP to open it and play the video, very good Video/Audio quality, but was not able to associate that file type with WMP, the associate with check box was grayed out?

I also checked in VDJ config codecs tab and seen "vob Video decorder" assigned already?

Is there a fix for this problem?

Thank You
Joey...

Works for me. Are other videos (non-VOBs) displayed? (I assume vdj is set to display videos in the View-Option button)
(Edit: and Video enabled in the Config/Video tab...)

make sure you have the latest video codecs installed...k lite codec pack is very good also first try going to the configuration codecs section look to see if you have the vob extension there if not...click on add new extension on the extension put vob and on the decoder side select video decoder....try and see if this works, if not download the k lite codec pack

oooP's

I checked for other vob files in me library and they all worked ok.

I then checked the batch of new videos I ripped and discovered that the Vob Ext. didn't have a period before the extension.

So I used FlashRenamer to fix all 450 files in about 45 seconds, then all my files showed up in VDJ and played.

Problem solved

Thank you For the advise

You DONT NEED K Lite codecs for VDJ to play VOB, as a matter of fact you only need it if you are usin the Windows Media Player option to play a certain filetype.
