I've been having this problem for ages but haven't thought to ask here if anyone knows the fix for it. I know for a fact other people run into it using VDJ because I hear the same artifacts in other peoples mixes heard on youtube, etc. Example here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Zt6LVdrYDI - you can hear an example right off the bat in the first 10 seconds or while the dj is making some adjustments. Then again at 5:37, 5:50, 7:25, when he's making adjustments to mix in the next track as subtly as possible, but to those who know how to pick up on/recognize those little scrubbing sounds it's immediately obvious the dj is tweaking the sound and ruins the mix.
I've had this problem since using V5 and still have it on V6. 3 Different computers/set ups, irregardless of bitrate of the files (tried the entire range of 64-320kbit in virtually all genres). When adjusting virtually any knob/fader the instant you begin to make the change, you hear that muffled noise which is indeed also heard in the mix and not just on your side. Tested using external remote midi controllers and simply sticking with mouse-operated tweaking, same result. Thought it may had been a problem similar to latency problems you experience in most d.a.w.'s that you just have to tweak to get it to go away, but no luck so far.
Help would be appreciated because it's seriously an immediate show stopper in terms of trying to produce any professional-level mixing!

Sorry mate, can't hear the artifacts you're referring to! Could simply be youtube, my poor PC playback capability, my hearing, or a 4am-in-the-morning thing (for me!).
Can you link to the raw audio recording (in whatever format) so we can hear the audio without some of the (potentially) interfering or failing elements in the playback?
By the way, what's your setup: OS, system spec, mixer, how are you recording, connections, etc. Some more details would help folks here figure what might be going on. What performance settings have you got & tried in VDJ?
By the way, if you've got a performance/latency issue going on (which you may well have!), playing a different genre/bitrate isn't going to help eliminate your problem! Once your track is loaded, how it behaves thereafter is based on your system's capability together with VDJ's settings...

Right I have vdj set up on my lap top which is XP and my desk top which is vista. I am having this problem on both systems. Its so bad it really is making this software unusable. I have tried versions 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 and it happens on both.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this otherwise it is bye bye VDJ and time to to look for some software which really does cater for professional use.
Any help grealtly appreciated
Thanks.

Hey boys, ;-)
like DJmga wrote, a little bit more informations are needed.
We don't own a glas ball and see your setup, specs and VDJ settings ;-)
But i'm sure you use onborad soundcards in combination with an MIDI Controler, right?
The most onboard soundcards, have not the performance, you need for djing.
Another possible reason can be, you use a damaged version.
See you

In total I have used 4 different sound cards with 2 different operating systems so I dont think its a sound card issue.
I am not using any external controllers, just the internal mixer on the software.
it happens with the demo version & also the full version of this software on both operating systems.
I have been suffering from this problem longer than I thought, ive only just realised after doing a demo for promotion and then listening back to it is when I heard this problem. I would sugeest you all listen carefully when you adjust the bass, treble knobs etc.
I'm pretty convinced its a bug in the software & not my set up.

Try turning off Safe Mode (CONFIG -> Performances-> Safe Mode)
Also, ensure that Latency on the same page is set to Auto.
