This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

That's right discobrian24.

If you need a break in the music for announcements or events, the best way to do it with VirtualDJ is to turn off AutoMix. The currently-playing song will come to an end and the music stops.

... then you make the announcements...

Then to start the music again, it would make sense to start AutoMix again, but you're right -- the music doesn't start with the next song on the list as you'd expect. Instead, it goes back to the first song on the list -- what the...?

Tayla,

This is where these conversations always get off topic, and being stopped by a moderator. \

The request of paid VDJ users, ones who we should add have offered to pay again for certain features, as VDJ offering additional versions for free has been more than generous, has nothing to do with an ethical discussion over the automation of a DJ i.e your comment on Virtual Jukeboxes.

If DJ's want to start a thread on "who is really DJing" or are "automated DJ's really DJs?" then lets do so..

Otherwise paid users, who are looking to pay for certain features, have the right to make a request to purchase without comments from the peanut gallery on their style of DJing... If the ownership of VDJ chooses to profit from their request to purchase that is their choice.

Vince.

i have also got the right to voice my opinion like anyone else on a subject whether someone likes my opinion or someone elses or not, about a feature that is proposed or reviving an old one, now trying to put me or someone else down in a public forum is where i would suggest you will get interest from other parties who use this forum.

now please point out where a moderator could see anywhere in my statement where it has gone off topic.

just because it doesn't suit your wishes you cannot attempt to gag anyone on these forums for their opinion, just get used to the taste of peanuts.

Here's another idea, a fade out button in automix window & press again to fade in a start on the next song on the list.

You can do this now manually with a controller or mixer, just fade down the played track, pause then double click track underneath. Click on right side of the last cue point of the loaded track, press start and fade in.

Joey....

Tayla,

Look, you win! This is a discussion for "fake" DJ's who want the automix playlist as AUTOMATED as possible. Happy now?

If you have a feature suggestion or a way to manipulate the current software to accomplish our goals fire away. If all you want to do is call people names then it adds nothing to the thread and I will ignore you moving forward.

Yours truly, the human jukebox, Insert $1,499-$1,999 for 5 hrs and you get a wedding DJ in a box... but hey, I am just a jukebox... oh yea, you have to put money in those!

Vince.

Gentlemen, I am not trying to squelch this debate. That being said, there is an entire section of this forum dedicated to Wishes and New Features. Any suggestions for the software would be better served posted there, as opposed to here in the General Forum.

WHOA now I take offense to this. There are users here who use Auto mix in many different ways.
1. Ever need to take a piss, I know I cant get to the shitter and back in 3 min, CAN YOU.
2. Running 1 deck in automix while using the other for KARAOKE...

Exactly discobrian.. I was being a bit sarcastic as the post I was replying to suggested that... I agree 100% with you. VDJ users use automix and its associated features many ways and should be able to make a simple request such as "have songs removed from the autoplaylist" as it it used to prior without us being called "human jukeboxes"...
