Hi Chaps,
If anyone is looking for help setting up TCV with VDJ then I've put this little tutorial together :)
In the vid I am using VDJ 6.0.1 with Numark Virtual Vinyl , for other TCV you may need to "Tweak" the settings in the VDJ timecode config settings to get that "perfect circle".
Cheers

The scratching on the TCV seems to be as near as damn it to the real thing, however I'm not a scratch DJ myself so I'm probably not qualified to give you an informed judgement on that.
A fellow DJTutor.com Import who usually uses vinyl tried them out round at my place and his opinion was that there was very little difference..........but then again he also is not a scratch DJ.
There are a few vids on you tube where DJ's are using the setup for scratching so you may want to take a peek at them and message the video's author's :)

There is something not right in the settings, not all is about getting perfect circles ... you have readings of 0% of quality, you have to got 100% to have all in set and working as it should. To do that, you must move a bit LEFT/RIGHT knob and also PHASE/ANTI to get 100%. Also to avoid drifting have to put SILENCE in minimum and start to increment the value to keep the song in pause while you have the needle in the vinyl in pause too.

what about the pitch control and the effect on the RMX are they still available to use, or they've been disabled due to the setting...and the jog wheels...whats going to happen to it?

That's correct boss, but it will only show 100% if you have loaded a track on the deck prior to launching the TCV config, if there is no tack loaded and you are using numark Virtual Vinyl then it will show up as 0% for some reason.
I should have pointed that out in the video so its my mistake, soz, I will re-edit the annotation to clarify that point...........apologies.

You can disengage the jog wheels using the hercules RMX config yes..........I found I kept catching them by accident so I turned them off.
As for the pitch sliders........... I'll check that out for you because I have not actively tried as of yet to make a comparison between using the ones on the 1200's and the ones on the RMX, but both work yes.

I havent experienced any problems with the mic input on the rmx no, I use the mic input all the time whilst streaming live on the youtubedjchannel, saves running in & out of an additional mixing desk.
But whilst performing in a club or a wedding venue etc, I always run it into another mixing desk and have the mic hooked into the desk also...............cos if your computer crashes and you are only using the RMX as a desk for all inputs then you are in big trouble !!! :)

Thanks for posting this, I was looking for this solution as I enjoy using my RMX.
Let me see if I got this correct, all I'll need is
Laptop
The Hercules RMX
2 turntables
VDJ 5+
Numark Virtual Vinyl (ONLY TWO DISKS)
I was wondering if I can also use Serato Time Coded VinyL?

Frank I forgot to say, it's a good tutorial, congratulations and keep the good work!
Ellicit,
The real Checklist is:
1.- VirtualDJ Pro
2.- Interface or 4 LINE IN (2 x 2 stereo) & 4 LINE OUT (2 x 2 Stereo) Sound Card like Maya 44 USB, U46DJ, DJC RMX, DJC Mk2, M-Audio Delta 44, Motu UltraLite, NI Audio4, NI Audio8, Terratec 88, etc...
3.- 2 Timecode Vinyls or CDs (VirtualDJ Timecode, Numark VirtualVinyl, Serato)
4.- 2 Direct Drive Turntables or Cd-Players
5.- Mixer with 2 stereo or More Channels.
6.- Headphones
You also need some songs or videos to start, but I obvious that part.
Good Luck!

Yes it will but I think you may need to upgrade from the VDJ LE version you got bundled with the RMX to VDJ Pro.
It doesnt cost a lot to upgrade to the pro version from the LE version, as a RMX owner you get a hefty discount off the usual retail price :)

Chris, have you updated to the latest hercules driverz ? If so you also need to make sure that in the Hercules software program (the record deck in the windows task bar), make sure the RMX is set to AISO mode. Then fire up vdj again, you may get the error message again this first time, but then go to vdj config , soundcards and set it to hercules rmx AISO mode, click apply and ok, then close down vdj and start it back up again ........the error message should now have vanished.
cheers
Matt

Ellicit,
You can only TEST for 5 minutes timecodes on VirtualDJ DJC Edition. You need to update to VirtualDJ Pro to fully work eith timecodes.

Chris, you need to make sure that you have a track loaded on each deck whilst configing the timecodes else it will show 0%, I re edited the annotations on the video to show this. when you have the tracks loaded go to the config screen and use the "left/right" , "phase/anti", "gain" & "silence" knobs to adjust the signal till you get 100% on both decks.
cheers
