Alright team. I need some assisatance in setting up my hardware so that it works to my satisfaction. I have a laptop with all my .mp3's on it. My other hardware includes the Numark Total Control, DJ I/O, a PV14 external mixer, amp and speakers. I currently have the Total Control and the DJ I/O connected to my laptop (no issue). I have output one from the DJ I/O going to one channel on my mixer and output two going to another channel on the mixer with my headphones plugged in to the headphone jack of the DJ I/O. My sound card configuration is set at input: nothing; output: external mixer; sound card: numark usb. Now, when I play music through the DJ I/O I can hear music from deck two of virtual dj, I can hear music from deck one through the headphones. Here's the problem - when I play deck two, I can still only hear music from deck 1. Even when I hit the pfl button for deck two, nothing happens. No music or anything. I played with this thing for 4 hours and finally was able to hear some sound through the headphones, only after disabling the cross fader.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Does your mixer have a headphone jack for cueing? If so, use that, not the DJ/IO

You need to decide how you want this set up, either internal mixer or external mixer.
To set it up for internal mixer, click config/sound and in the top box select none, second select phones and speaker if you have a multi channel card, and in the third box select 4.1 sound.
Below that find and select the sound card you want to use and assign the channels 1/2 as main/front/speakers and 3/4 rear/monitor/ phone
If you have a single channel stereo sound card such as the internal card on the laptop do the same only select speaker in box 2 and simple in box 3.
Then just patch the output to the mixer as a single output only.
To set it up for external mixer, click config/sound and in the top box select none, second select external mixer and you must have a multi channel card, and in the third box select 4.1 sound.
Below that find and select the sound card you want to use and assign the channels 1/2 to one mixer channel and 3/4 to the second mixer channel.
Head phone monitoring is done directly at the mixer with PFL or CUE select buttons.
