What file extention does the videos have?

Make sure this extention is assosiated with either VDJ owns video decoder or WMP decoder, at VDJ decoder settings...

The videos are MPG>i have recorded previously with virtual dj but this problem has started after I reformated my computer last week and re-installed virtual dj.Do I need to download winamp or something...I have media player classic on my xp.Or do I need media player instead

yeah you need codecs...

But try assosiate .mpg with VDJ internal video decoder, in VDJ decoder settings first.. Might work.

If not, install Windows Media Player 11...
And possibly a codec pack, at least mpeg2 decoders

ups, my bad...

I see its RECORD error

You are trying to record a video in VDJ?

If so you need to install an ENCODER for the file format you are trying to encode to ... (DiVx, Mpeg2, etc)

Google for a free mpeg2 ENCODER/DECODER.
Or install ONE codec pack (never install several.. )

such as this one:

Let us know how it goes, because I've never managed to record video in vdj without it being really jerky.

I've been using FRAPS (a bit of video recording software) instead. Works pretty well and for me I get pretty smooth video. I'd post a link to my latest youtube demo, but it got taken down as soon as I uploaded it for copyright. D'oh!

i also have a similar problem. when i click start record it says**Record Error* that it cant find the pathway to that folder. help
