I work at NY's Laguardia Airport and around this time, its usually very busy. The flights are supposed to be over sold. The actual loads as of now are like 60-70% full. All my years working there, I have never seen so many slow days even on the holidays. Its usually a mad house at the airport. I can't even imagine January when things slow down eve more. More cuts on top off the days and hours that they already cut.

That is good example what is happening in the world, crisis on global level.

It's too big of a problem to blame any one person as much as I dislike Bush.
Economics is a pretty hairy subject
There was conversation today in my shop that got me thinking.
Rather than bail out the businesses, bail out the people.
The people will for sure spend it with the businesses which is the core problem.
If I got 30k from the bail out, you can bet I would find immediate ways to spend it even if it is to pay off my mortgage which would help the financial institutions.
This shit makes sense, not the other way around.
We're propping up the wrong end of this problem.
In fact, if they hurry they can save the retail business this season.

I liken the economy to a large piece of cloth, like a tapestry. You can pull one string from a tapestry and it is still beautiful, if you pull too many strings it falls apart...that is what is going on with the economy, too many strings getting pulled at once. The first six years of this administration were OK. Rick is correct in saying its wrong to lay all the blame at one persons feet.
Between the mortgage issues, oil prices fluctuating like crazy, a change in presidents, (this always causes the market to act odd) and speculators freaking out every time something doesn't "feel" right. It has us looking at the bottom of our shoes.
I heard one financial expert put it this way today. "Our economy is like a large jet, and we missed the runway for our landing spot. This mornings bailout of Citibank helped keep us from flying into the side of a mountain. Now we have to decide which part of the forest to crash into. Make no mistake though..we are going to crash, the question is hard mountain, or not so hard forest."

the economy is specifically manipulated by the powers that be, global powers not the figureheads we all have as our televised leaders. They are trying to even out the overall economies so they can institude the Amerodollar like they did the Euro and take us one step closer to the one world government. The super unseen rich are making the biggest land and asset grab in the history of the world right now. It can not be stopped no matter what we do because it was planned and implemented on purpose and until the agenda is fullfilled it will not be corrected.

the people are the businessmen.
we are businessmen.
people want to push everything to the limit. they want the most expensive dj at their wedding. they want the best dj at their club. people want to attend these events so that they feel special about their perceived image. this image is based on monetary wealth rather than moral compassion.
we need the newest controllers, the newest software. and then we complain about it when we get it. we want everything and we want it now, and most importantly: we want everyone to see what we have in order to make ourselves feel 'complete.'
we live outside of our means, with credit cards, loans, and mortgages. we become cogs in the system in order to keep up with our financial obligations. yet we (the majority of americans) are unaware of how america is perceived by other countries.
so now we sit. and wait. and have faith while our recession kills the stock market. kills the backbone of american financial success. everyone invested in america is also suffering.
but what is the solution?
when dealing with loans: if it sounds too good to be true; it usually is. save up. throw a fat down payment down. eat pork and beans in the meantime.
when dealing with people: eliminate the caste system. stop trying to impress everyone with your fancy car and shiny watch.
image is only an image. image has led to the financial ruin of america and the current recession. the war has played a major role in the recession.
have faith.
obama is here.

Along the same lines as Rick pointed out earlier. It is wrong to lay all the blame at one persons feet, and it is wrong to lay all the hopes at another persons. It took more than one man to get us to this point and is going to take more than one man to fix it.
