Experimenting with harmonizing the mix...the structure is 0A1-A12 and keeping the BPMs no more than 5 apart. It seem to work plus it gives me something to follow other than following BPMs alone. The challenge for me and I suppose many other users of VDJ is getting incorrect BPMs for many songs. It is best to check the next song with your headphones so your have no surprises during a live mix or event. Better yet I should be putting together the playlist by Key and BPM in an ascending order. Once I have the list of possibly 20 songs or so listen to each one for about 15 seconds to a minute to determine if the BPM is correct, if not then correct the BPM and the order or eliminate that track and bring in a different one having the BPM I'm looking for. So far I've managed to put together 5 cds and they sound pretty good. Another structure I tried was grouping the genres, playing four rock songs at first, followed by four alternative, four pop songs, four R&B, four hip hop, and four club songs. My understanding is that rock should be faded out, hip hop cut, and club songs beatmatched. Leaving the question what to do with alternative, pop and r&B. I suppose fade them out to or work the intro / outros. Yeah that's it when in doubt work the intro / outro.
