Bob, Dutchman, 69 y/o, living in Spain, owner/manager/dj of "BoB's disco" in Calella/Barcelona. Old-school DJ, started in 1984 with 12-inch maxies. CD's in the 90s, Virtual DJ from 2005 on. Married to Filipina Michelle who runs the adjacent "Crazy Daizy discoBar", also with VDJ. In both bars VDJ is connected to normal Behringer 5-channel mixing panels. We use Creative Soundblasters, an X-Fi 5.1 surround and a cheaper Creative "XFi Go". We both manage VDJ in automix and serve behind the bar. That means we are not "showy" DJs: we jump back and forth between laptop and bar, I have no idea what words like "midi" and "mapper" mean. You guys who use controllers and consoles, it's like a different planet for us. (But we still play good music!) |
