Well....never have been good at this kind of thing but here it goes. I started DJing in 1998 at the age of 13 (I love my aunt, lol) with a set of 1200's and I don't even remember what mixer, lol. But when I moved to Georgia at the age of 15 I needed money and sold all of my gear (shame on me). I am just now, 10 years later, getting back into DJing again. During my 10 year hiatus I got into music production and started my own (EXTREMELY small) production company 'cause, well, honestly, I love music and couldn't be away from it. I have worked with several local artists in the hip-hop community as well as done some of my own "electronic" songs (I just say electronic cause house, trance, techno, whatever are all under that classification as far as I see it). I have been back in DJing for about 3-4 months now and I can't believe I ever left. When I decided to get back into it I decided to go CD (everyone else was CD why not right?). But then I grew tired of caring around so many CD's I made a New York City bootleg CD street vendor look like a kid with a visor CD case. Sooooooo I have decided to go digital, and am relatively happy with that decision (despite the learning curve and some minor issues I have had) but all in all I kinda chalk the fact that I am not COMPLETELY happy up to the fact that I am stubborn and bullheaded, lol. But it will pass and I will be completely happy. This community has welcomed me very graciously with their help (even within the last 24 hrs) and I hope to also be able to help someone in the community as well some day. |
