Hi there!
If you would like to know a little bit more about me, then read on...
I started out, back in the 90's, during my college education, as a part-time DJ for small clubs in Maastricht, The Netherlands. I used two turntables and a small, two-channel mixer. Eventually, I changed to CD players. Then I took a little "time off" as a deejay (about 15 years). Well, actually I didn't decide anything, it just happened. You know: job, wife, house, kids...
Since my "comeback" as a deejay, I have gone completely virtual. I built a digital DJ unit that is capable of real-time audio and video mixing in high definition, and using touch-screen technology I have eliminated the need of any additional hardware like mixers and such. I now live on the beautiful little island of La Palma (Canary Islands, Spain), where I do small gigs for clubs and at town festivities.
I have three kinds of theme nights:
FIESTA TROPICAL Playing modern dance music from Africa and the Caribbean, like Zouk, Soca, Merengue, Salsa, Reggaeton, Reggae, Soukous, Kuduro, etc...
DISCO FEVER Playing all the soulful, funky, discoteque hits from the 70's and early 80's...
REGGAE NIGHT Playing all the sub-genres (there's more than you think!) of this warm jamaican music style...
On a non-themed night I mix all kinds of music, creating a light, easy-going and groovy mood, often getting warm smiles from the dancefloor...
What more can I say? I like music, I like to share it, and I feel great watching people enjoy it!
