"Error in the Sound Driver of DirectX"

That's the message I get when i try to start VDJ on my PC. I can't play any songs or videos.

Does anyone know what may be the problem? I've tried to reinstall the sound drivers on my computer but nothing gets better.

I am very happy for any kind of help!

Is this with the console edition, or the trail of the pro version?

I actually don't know if it's like that in the console edition because the console in for repairs (it just stopped to work).
So it's when I try to use the Trial version I get this message.

Well all that message means that VirtualDJ knows there's something wrong in your sound setup, so try this,

VirtualDJ>Config>Sound setup tab>

Set as this

Inputs: None
Outputs: Single Output
Soundcard(s): Simple
Soundcard: Whatever internal soundcard you have installed in your machine.

I have noticed this message since I reinstalled Hercules MK2 drivers and VDJ Pro 5.2.1

Whenever I saw it in the past it usually meant that I had the wrong soundcard or no soundcard selected under the 4.1 selection but this is not currently the case as Hercules MK2 is definitely selected.

My machine is XP service pack 3

Can anyone suggest any things which I should look out for?

uninstalled latest MK2 drivers and installed earlier release. also updated the firmware on the controller via the 1-2-3 buttons and disconnecting of usb cable method... this resolved my problem

Hi there..
I'm getting the same DirectX error on my new laptop.
I'm not using any timecode CD's.
I usually plug the phono-RCA cables from the sound card straight to the mixers.

I just changed to this Dell XPS laptop running Vista.
Bought a new Maya44 USB Soundcard for this.
Previously i was using a Creative PCMCIA external sound card on a Lenovo no problems.

I've got VDJ Version 5 installed. It's running the latest DirextX 10.
I play a song and the screen display just doesn't move.
I can't mix any songs, I can't hear any sound.

Help! I got a gig in two weeks time at a big club. :s

Thanks!

As mentionned before by Jimmy B, simply go to Preferences > Soundcard, and configure VDJ to work with your soundcard.

With the Maya, you'll probably end up with something like this:

- Input : None

- Output(s): Headphone

-Soundcard: ASIO

Then select the MAYA.

AER - AER - AER -AER-

dando mile s de botes me di cuenta que todos los bla bla bla bla no sirven:

la respuessta es muy facil.

en caso de que en VDJ te de el error (error de controlador directx) ingresa a:

configuracion /
info /
(presiona) RESET TO FACTORY SETTINGS.

saludos JP

Any suggestions regarding using the Hercules RMX? I am getting the DirectX message as well. I can get the music out to my computer's sound card but I cannot hear anything on the console.

Thanks.

Hi..
Back again with same error, exactly a year ago..

Upgraded my laptop 2 months ago and now using Windows 7, 32 bit.
Maya44 USB Sound card.. Driver 2.817
Virtual DJ 6.0.7

It was working fine for a few gigs.
Normally i would have problems detecting the driver and all i would have to do is reinstall the driver, and it works fine after.

Strange thing happened at a gig last night.. Had to reinstall the driver as usual, but this time it gave me,
"Driver Installation Failed Error 0x0006".

I'm also getting the DirectX & Asio Driver error but may have fixed it after installing the latest DirectX 11.
I'm even running the driver installation as Administrator compatibility with Vista SP1. Still getting the same error.

Disabled my UAC as well, updated my USB drivers. Still same problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled.
Still getting that error and worst still, no drivers present or installed.

Settings are back to Input None; Single Output, Simple..
VDJ works fine and i somehow had to miraculously pull off mixing visually since i didn't have two line channels last night.
But i can't get the Maya outputs to work when the sound card drivers just doesn't work despite being connected.

Wondering if going into the registry edit is required..

Help please! Thank you :s

These are the official forums for VirtualDJ software. For help with Traktor, please go to their website/forums.

For information on how to configure the MixTrack Pro for use with VirtualDJ, please see:

http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/MixTrack%20Pro.html

If your MixTrack did not come with VirtualDJ LE, you will need to purchase the full VirtualDJ Professional to be able to use it with VirtualDJ: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html
