Topic: Newbie Hardware Help, Thanks Mixers and Amps

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi I have virtual dj for my laptop and am looking to do a wedding for a friend this year. I was wondering what is a good mixer to use for the party. I believe I will be given powered speakers and was wondering if I will need an amp or some power source for the speakers and mixer. Also what is the deal with a soundcard? what is that and is it something that comes built in a mixer. I dont plan to use cds or vinyl turntbales, just looking to use one of those small mixers. I have a toshiba laptop running Windows XP with 2gb ram. I really appreciate any help. Thanks

I would go with the MK2 or RMX from hercules. Not the best equipment but very easy to use and they both have the soundcard!

Welcome to the forum. If you are getting powered speakers you will not need an amp. Register your program and if it is VDJ PRO you can use many controllers that have sound cards built in. As mentioned before the Hercules DJ MKII or the RMX are great. Good luck in choosing.

It is not really a good idea to do any gigs with either the
trial version or possibly a cracked version. If you have the full
pro version of VDJ then as drzinc said register the software.
