Topic: Virtual Vinyl vs Maya 44 USB

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Been using Maya for quite some time. Just ordered the Time code vinyl, and wanted to start using turntables with VDJ. Lots of people using maya. Is the Numark Virtual Vinyl a better solution when spinning time code vinyl, or will the maya card work fine. Lastly, to VDJ why not a section on the site with the basic hook-up for Time Code set up. I thought it used to be there, but I am unable to find it. Great tips in the forum, but would be nice to have an area on the site with the basic set-up configuration. The manual has the ASIO 4 -all, and that is not what I was planning on using.

The maya would work but the VV box is allot more responsive and gives a better quality of sound.

It was intended specifically for timecode and bypasses allot of normal windows or mac components which slow down a card.

It can aslo act as a switching box of sorts when you change djs as it acts as a passive repeater on the pass through ports.

This means you can use another source to cover the time your laptop is disconnected and the next DJ starting.

Kind Regards

If you already have VDJ 5.0 and the timecode vinyls. Are you able to purchase just the VV soundcard. Also, how does VV work with vista. When I hooked up the maya 44 to Vista, I had to go search and dowload some special driver.
