Ground loop....

Its a common thing with electric audio equipment.

Is it a laptop? If so its easy to verify that its a ground loop. Run laptop on batteries and hum is gone.

To eliminate the problem, connect your PC to a different power connection in your house, and even better (Depending on country), get a grounded extention cord, and connect your PC to that.

Last resort is getting a small box, a ground loop elminiator, that they sell cheap at most local radio stores...

I use a small box designed to get rid of the hum in car stereo systems...$10 at Fry's Electronics or Circuit City in the car audio section

If it is a ground loop, one of these works real nicely.
