My laptop shutdown again after about 2 hours of use! After the first time it happened i thought it may be overheating, so I put it on a metal ventalated stand and I put a fan underneath lowing air on the bottom of the laptop.
I waited about 20 minutes and booted up again only to find the DMC2 controller would not function. Then I tried a restore point and the DMC2 conrroller was still frozen. I then pulled the plug out for the controller and Virtual DJ, DMC2 and the Hercules mixer ran fine for the night.
Could there be another problem here besides overheating? I need to use this setup tonight!

Check your USB ports. It may be your ports are going into hibernation or shut down....
control panel > System and maintenance > Performance info > adjust power settings > USB > hibernation never

i had my dmc2 freeze up on me once all i had to do was to pull the power plug and all was well with the gig for the night
