Hey all,

I have a trial version of Virtual DJ running on my MacBook Pro (Leopard) the problem is that I have a turtle beach USB soundcard for my headphones, but whenever I change the config in order to play from two soundcards, the sound coming from my laptops line out gets distorted, but this doesn't happen if I write in the config file that I will only use one soundcard. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Alas there is no demo currently for osx, if you want good results from VDJ you need to purchase the official pro edition of VDJ or CUE.

Then you will be entitled to upgrade free of charge to 5.07 and all future updates.

Hope to see you as a pro user soon.

In the full legal product , if you go to performances in config , and set to autolatency it should be ok.

Hi Dima21 n Chiments, r u using 2 soundcards too?? Wat card r u using?

If u using also the internal, maybe at the settings of the mac sound settings, try to minimized or 3/4 of the sound, it worth a try.

The internal soundcard on the macs are not great and dun expect too much from it.

Regards.

Alright , what you should do , for starters if you could give it a shot go to Config > Performances , choose fastest , and autolatency.

The rane mixer will not work as a controler element as it uses hid locked to SLL.

How have you configured it on Sound Setup?

You could Try ,

Inputs : none
Outputs : 2 line external mixer
Card : 4/4 interface

Channels 1/2 right 3/4 left

Wow - I'm really TRYING not to be mean or whatever... but do you people read what the user types before you post your responses trying to help them????

I'm not using the Mixer as a controller... because it is a MIXER - if you read my post, you would have seen that i have a controller already.

And I have set the sound settings up ALREADY using what you said. I have had this already working on a windows laptop for 2 years. I know how it is supposed to go. The mixer works fine with Mac Os.
The problem is with YOUR software. Why don't you want to see that? and further more, Why is this so difficult to pass this to your Mac developers to get a more intelligent response?

I will REPEAT my self..... I have tested the sound settings to use as a single sound card on both sides of the mixer. Both sides (as set up as single sound cards) work individually.... but when "use 2 sound cards" is selected... it becomes very distorted.

while i understand your frustrations but lashing out at forum users will not get you many replies!

I do not work for VDJ i am the Numark Specialist for Cue but i am a Avid supporter of Atomix , and i spend alot of time liaising with the developers to improve the mac version so rest assured all your feedback will be passed onto them.

I am not obligated to help here but do so to ensure good results for all users.

any way im sorry to hear of your continued problems , did you notice a slight improvement when adjusting the latency at all ?

I wasn't lashing out at users.. i was lashing out at you. Being a moderator i assumed you were offering tech support. Seeing as you are not obligated to do so, I apologize.

However. just as it would apply to me, reading will help answer questions for you as well. I have stated many times what i have done. Nothing that has been suggested thus far has worked or i have already tried it. So the answer is no, the latency does nothing.

Good Day

Thanks , for the info

With the rane mixer , i have spoken to a representative of the developers and they have suggested that instead of setting it as a 4.1 or a dual sound card for now

that you instead create a aggregate device :
http://www.virtualdj.com/blog/skyfxl/blog4912.html

This blog shows the mk2 as an example but it is the same principal you need to create a device which includes all the inputs and outputs of the card.

So
inputs : timecode
Outputs : 2 line mixer
Card : 4/4 interface
Driver : aggregate device (the one you created)

Thank you but respectfully there is no mac demo , so i would have to surmise as you have not registered that you are using a counterfeit product perhaps the old beta 3.

Support for this cannot be given as it was a testing release only and is not entirely stable as it is unfinished.

If you would like to get access to a stable version of the product please purchase V5.07 professional as well as this version you will get access to all future updates.

If this is not the case apologies please register your serial in your profile then you can get the update.

yes - either same distortion as before, or a core audio issue

i also notice a steady static ticking

but again... only when i select two sound cards, single or anything else works brilliantly

Then if I buy pro version I can use it like console version on OSX... and there's no demo version... good :)
