I will be purchasing the following

Stanton SMX201
Maya44 USB
Virtual DJ 5 software
Virtual DJ timecoded vinyls (x2)
--

Not looking to go all out and purchase expensive turntables these will have to do for right now.
But i was wondering If everything will work out okay
I don't know much about turntables/mixers etc I'm learning everyday about it, i just want something
better than this Hercules DJ Control MP3.

So should i have a problem with this setup ?

Also if you need my computer specs they are here

Thats all the major stuff i know my PC is decent to turn time coded vinyls just want to know everything before i go out and spend my cash.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

heya,,

The stanton t80 is decent enuff n worth it.. I myself use it. It is important to get direct drives tt n much torque when doing TCV. The importance things is the catriges.. The recommended ones are the ortofon n the shure but i say even the stanton discmaster II, perform well to me.

The specs u listed is ok n good to go with correct set up.

N remember u can get the discount when u purchase the pro version as u own the dj console mp3.

Yes cos the one they bundled with is not on par to use with TCV.. n with the gen 3 TCV, it stated the best would use the ortofon n the shure. Search n Read in the forums. There several thread on it;)

Maya44 usb, as i knoe there are only one.. not sure abt the 2 version..

Just be sure that u need at least 4 mono (2 stereo) in 4 mono (2 stereo) out audio cards/interfaces.

Hope to see u soon with us:)

"Just be sure that u need at least 4 mono (2 stereo) in 4 mono (2 stereo) out audio cards/interfaces."

So i have to purchase these? or they come with Turntables/Mixer?

As for the cart you was telling me about stanton discmaster II

will the Discmaster.V3 work as good?

I won't buy my turntables online though i will get them from GuitarCenter
thats only thing they have Discmaster II might be discontinued or doesnt carry it anymore?

sorry to keep bugging you with these questions

Np here;)

The 4in /4out the examples is the maya44 usb.. or u46dj or herc mk2 n many more.
Just be sure to have at least 4 in/ 4 out as u gonna need them to use both turntables.. to timecoded.

The V3, i need not have the chance to test it but will soon.. Abt the V2, yes i afraid it been discontinued n the only chance u get is the left over stock.

I think it best u get the ortofon digitracks or the shure m44-7. But i recommend u get the digitracks as they are proven to werk great with gen 3 TCV.

Cheers:)

I just finished reading the manual on hooking up everything for timecode

and i was reading were it says "External mixer with atleast 3 channels"
The Stanton SMX201 is two channel so this is "incompatible" right?

Two channel mixer is fine. I was wondering where people were getting the info that a 3 channel mixer is necessary, didn't realize it was in the manual. I think you can use the third channel for sample volume, but no it is not necessary.

i use the smx 201 daily i love that 2 channel mixer.

I purchased my turntables today.

The store was all out of T.80's so i picked up the Stanton T.90's which i think is a better pick up.
i ordered my timecoded VDJ vinyls and my maya 44 usb also, will i need extra RCA Cables ? for
maya usb ? im kind of clueless on that ?? i bought two rca cables for my turntables though.

T90 is abt the same as the t80 but only cos it have the usb options;)

Yes u need extra 2 rca cables from ur maya to the mixer.

Search the forum abt how to set the maya...or if u have difficulities, just ask:)

There be ppl who use the maya could help.
