This update downloadable via software update , will improve the performance of video mixing on all macs which can support 10.5.2

It includes a update the the open GL api to make video playback smoother and more stable in all aplications , this update will be particularly benifical to any one using a macbook white or black with the intel chipsets.

It includes updated graphics drivers (specifically, an AltivecDVDDriver, IntelGMA drivers, ATI drivers, GeForce and NVDANV drivers) which will aslo help to improve the quality of all aplications visual performance.

Apple helpfuly as always with their updates gave the explination "Improves stability and compatibility." but forgot to mention how or why.
