Topic: Crash on making an automix playlist

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I had crashes all night when I was making a playlist of songs to run in automix. I placed a setlist of songs on the right screen and after a song or two the fatal error screen came up. I hit the smiley face and virtual DJ closed. I had to start it up again. This happened each time I made a playlist for automix. I could not use the automix so mixed everything without a problem.
I am using the Hercules controller and noticed 6 icons in the Windows bottom tray. I uninstalled the Hercules controller the next day and it still happened.
How do I get The crashes to stop when making a playlist for the automix?

I was using Version 5.4. I just installed 5.6 but still had the same problem of crashing.

Billy,

Go into notepad I think and click on all files, then My documents>virtualdj folder. Once open you should see the crash reports.

Copy and paste them in here and a Teamer like cstroll or DJ Cyder will prob be able to tell you why this keeps happening to you.

Also it's good research for the Dev team.

OK,
Here is what is in my crash report file in Virtual DJ. It is alot. I did not hit the send report everytime I had a crash. I am guessing that it would go in this file if I did.

Any ideas what is wrong? Do you have enough information?

It seems to be always the same crash but it crashed outside the kernel of VirtualDJ : it can be a crash in a dll used (plugins [effect, mapper, ...] or used by Windows)

Do you have a easy way to reproduce it? If so, describe it in order to help me to discover the origin of the crash.

You can now delete the "crashguard report.txt" file

Thanks for helping. I will describe what happens.

It was cocktail hour so I wanted to compile a list of songs for autoplay.

1.) I went to my folders on the left side of Virtual DJ and dragged the songs and videos in the automix screen to the far right.
2.) I am in automix mode while I am compiling the list with a video playing. Only 1 video would play and another would load in the automix and it would crash. As soon as the next song loaded and started to play it would crash. Now the 2nd song would finish with the "fatal error screen"
3) I hit the smiley face and Virtual DJ left. I had to restart the software.
4) This would happen over and over. I had a list of about 15 songs. They were all taken from different folders on the left side of Virtual DJ.

When I tried it again at home, sometimes more then 2 videos would play before it crashed.

I use the Hercules contoller and thought that might be the problem. I uninstalled the software but it still crashed on automix
