Topic: Looking for help with ATI Drives

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

When I try to install the new or old version of Catalyst drivers, I get this error right after the extract

INTERNAL FAILURE
Error Number 0x80040707

My card is a HIS X1950pro AGP

I know this is not a ATI forum but I could use the help

Try this:
Create the folder Desktop in c:\documents and settings\all users\. After you do that install and it should work. I know it sounds really dumb but it works. Good Luck

i have seen someone use a nvidia driver for there video card and it worked fine

Ok search the web for Driver Cleaner Pro and try that. It will clean out all the ATI drivers in your system. I am tellin u I had the same issue some time ago and that folder trick worked. Did u download the correct drivers??

Yes I am trying the new drives. My desktop fold was there already. I wlll try the Driver Cleaner Pro

p4 3.0E
motherboard ABIT IC7-G MAXII
Chipset Intel i875P/ICH5R
ram 2gib (pc3200)
video card HIS X1950pro AGP (512)
audio Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
windows xp pro (sp2)
DirectX 9.0c
700W (PSU)

1. I am able to play Crysis on everything high but no AA or AF at 1210x1000
or
2. AA and AF on but at 1020x800 with everything at half

what do you think?
