Sky

I have opened ports in windows firewall and I just have a USB modem.

When I try to broadcast it says "Error" "can't listen on port 8000"

Any ideas what I can do next.

who is your carrier? they can block ports on their end too

for example aol ban server ports unless you request them.

You may have to purchase a modem/router, I am not sure if usb modems can be configured as your requirements.

Can anyone help me , i am trying to broadcast using mk2 console and virtual dj. I try to use Shoutcast at which point i see that a Encoder is required. I don't know what should used in the Encoder section. I am running through a netgear modem router on a broadband connection, i see everyone mentioning port openeing, but i am assuming this is only used for streaming to a server which i do not want to do. Would appreciate some help

I have put the .dll into virtual dj and that has changed the end of the link to virtual dj.mp3 ,but i still cannot log to the link is there anything i need to be changing on my router and if so does it affect my day to day normal use of the internet ?

look in the config and forward ports 8000 and 8001

do the same in the firewall :)
