I got the same problem : when I create a new playlist, everything looks right. Then the next day when I re-open VDJ, my new playlist has desapeared or is incomplete (songs are missing). Same problem with informations I update in the database : as an exemple, I change the year or the genre of a song, then the next day the changes are gone as if I never made them. Clearly a problem with the database but I need a solution.

Check the write permissions of your Documents\VirtualDJ folder.
If you are on mac, also check in the Privacy settings if VirtualDJ has write access to your Documents folder.
