gifted a macbook pro (2009 unibody) and got fresh osx installed w an ssd - this vintage mbp actually kicks. :)
now, my question...
i setup sound (for example, a gigaport hd) and save the audio profile.
now when connected to the device, everything is ok like it should.
when i have it disconnected, it complains (as it should), but sometimes change it to 'home' w/ the internal sound.
but if i don't, and connect to the gigaport, vdj complains no sound card and i must redo the settings.
bug or by design?

Have you updates to Sierra? Do you have a controller attached to the MacBook Pro?
