Topic: Hitting play on an unloaded deck auto adds and plays a song, how can I stop that?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have a custom midi controller connected to virtual dj so I can start and stop the players from the mixer. It work great. (It's a broadcast type board) I have noticed that when I hit start (by accident) on a player that does not have any song loaded, virtual dj will automatically add a song to that unloaded player and start playing. The behavior is the same if you click start in the program itself. The song it seems to pick is the highlighted one in the browser. How can I stop this from happening? Even if I tell it to play on an unloaded deck, I would prefer it play nothing like version 7 did. I can't find anything in the settings to turn this off. I just don't want something getting played that shouldn't be.

Thanks

I guess you could change the script for the start button so that it checks to see if a track is loaded, and only plays if it is loaded.

You'll have to wait for locodog or one of the staff to post the code.
