After an 8.2 update a month ago, 8.2 did not see all 8 channels on a 7.1 card after creating a new settings file.
But if I copied the txt from a saved xml file, it did in fact access the sound card correctly.
I saw this fix the osx build but did this also fix the windows build as well?

On windows with WASAPI there's unfortunately no way to automatically reliably detect the number of channels that might be available, so you may still need to enter the channel numbers manually (even with the first release of 8.2 you could just type the required channels in the channel selection box)

Agreed, but I got an 'etc' in the settings. I could not 'for the life of me' figure it out when 8.1 came out.
