I need help choosing between MC4000 and DDJ-SR for vdj8. I like the pad performance layout in SR. How does the sound quality compare? Why would one choose one over the other besides the price?

The 4000 has a better selection of outputs and better booth and aux level controls. The SR has better performance pads. The 4000 is built like a tank (as is most Denon gear) but the SR isn't slouching on build quality either despite having more plastic in the case.

Really it comes down to work flow - how do you want to go about your dj'ing. Once you figure that out, which unit will work best for you should become obvious.

I bought the Mc400 as a backup to my NS6 and I have not used the NS6 since. Amazing piece of gear for my needs, very well built, great sound quality, 2 mics, split cue, pads, hot cues, filter knobs, aux input, all laid out in a dj friendly design. Works great for my needs I hope it will for you as well.

That's actually not a bad price. I get employee pricing from Denon, and that is just around what I paid for it.

That's a great price for the 4000. I bought both, the MC4000 for myself and the SR for my son. He loves it coming from the NS6 he had. I'm really liking the 4000 and it plays nice with VDJ 8 but will not work with 7. Customizing the MC4000 was a breeze.

Love my mc4000. I bought it as a backup for my mc6000mk2. Wish it worked with vdj7.
