Hey peeps, bought myself a brand new mac started copying all my music files / folders to it, by creating 4 very simple folders on my desktop, all done now after 4 days of transferring, but only a selected few will play I keep getting "impossible to play" messages i've checked the permissions and completed them all still no joy, can somebody please help my.

Are you using Search, are you trying to load the tracks from their folders or iTunes Playlists ?
Do they play if load them from Finder ?
Most likely, since you changed the structure of your music library, the paths that your database has are no longer valid, so Search and Playlists will probably not work.
You will need to do some batch edits in your database xml files and replace the part if the path that has changed.
