Topic: Add string parameter "random" to video_transition_select to allow for a manual random transition selection

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Build 2334 states that:
Add string parameter "random" to video_transition_select to allow for a manual random transition selection

Can someone please explain how this works? For example I would like to exclude the pixelate video transition.

If you want to exclude a transition from random, then do this:

* Open transitions selection list and pin it open
* Create a folder called Ignore
* Drag the transitions you don't want to be randomly selected into the Ignore folder.

The new command
video_transition_select "random"
works exactly the same as the random video transition, but only does it once. This means you could select a new random transition if you don't like the one random selected, or you could disable random transition in options and change manually to a new random whenever you like.

Thanks for your prompt response. Did you mean create a group as shown below? I cant see an option to create a folder

Secondly, if you meant create a group, I cant drag effects to that group:

Thanks

Yes, but I will test tomorrow to make sure it is not a Mac specific issue.

Hi, did you get time to check this out on a Mac?

Hi,

Yes, you are correct, it's not working in any of the effect selectors on Mac. I will have a look into why that is.
