I'm just starting this little poll to see if any of you will need this.

I've wrote a little tool, that is converting you v8 databases back into a v7 database.

It's capable of providing all the important values for cues, title, artists, in searchdb, track length and so on and your virtual folders.

If there is some interest I will upload it.
So just write a comment if you are in need of that tool and maybe what you think it should be able to do as additional features.

Would be handy actually, I have one machine that still runs on V7 for my home system so it would be great to convert my current V8 database back the way!

I'd say so, having V7 as a back up really only works, if the DB is good.

Currently there is still a little bug in the application.
Once I fixed it, I will upload the tool.

STOP CAPS. It looks like your shouting.

As far as i know VDJ8 can easily read and convert VDJ7 DB's on it's own.

That is right.
But it will only do so 1 time if there is no v8 database available.

If you need to convert a v7 database to a v8 database, you have to delete all existing v8 databases first.

Thanks a lot
this program works great

I use this program to convert my VDJ 8 database ( with all bpm scans ) to VDJ 7, run the database fix in VDJ 7, then use "VDJ DB Manager" and the VDJ 7 database to write my BPM's into the tag files.

Thanks again
