Which Version of VDJ do you use...? Make shure, that it is the latest Version 7.4. Older Version do not support your controller.
Register your Pro Version here http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and download the actual 7.4.....

Most likely you have downloaded an unofficial version that doesn't work correctly.

The Hercules DJ Instinct is natively supported (Plug and play) in the latest VirtualDJ Pro v7.4 and no mappers need to be installed: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VirtualDJ%20Controllers.html

Please register your Pro serial number to your account http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and then download the latest v7.4 version from the Download Center: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

If you have not purchased VirtualDJ Pro then please support the software and its future development by purchasing it: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html (Especially if you are working DJ and are making money as a result of using it at your gigs.)

You can download the mapping file for the Hercules dj control instinct from this blog and be up and running in just a few steps. [Removed]

They also have a premade midi file for the Akai LPD8.

Happy Mixing

I have a registered copy of Virtual DJ Pro 7.4.2 and a new Hercules Instinct control purchased through Amazon. I'm running the latest version of Windows 7 (downloaded updates). Because, Virtual DJ Pro 7.4 (and higher) claims to provide drivers for the Hercules Instinct, I allowed the USB drivers to be installed upon plugging in the USB from the controller. I have used this system for other Hercules controllers and they have worked as advertised.

1. I have uninstalled all the Hercules drivers on my system and tried to connect the Hercules Instinct Controller while running Virtual DJ Pro 7.4.2. Results= no USB drivers installed or found.
2. I have installed the latest Hercules drivers (2014_HDJS_1.exe). Results= no USB drivers installed.
3. I have tried every combination of Hercules drivers (old and new versions), uninstalled drivers, and allowed Virtual DJ to provide the correct drivers.
4. I have yet to get my new Instinct Controller working.

Looking for help and/or advice. I am a computer Design Engineer and I've been a DJ for 40 years. I've helped many DJs and used many brands of controllers, this is the first time I've had difficulty. Perhaps my controller is bad. I've tried the controller on three other computers with the same results.

I've read all the information from Virtual DJ and Hercules that I could find. Everything should work! Perhaps there is interference from some other program(s) I have on my systems (not likely).

To be clear, the Hercules DJControl Instinct is natively supported by the latest version of Virtual DJ (i.e. no need to install any mapper) and will be automatically recognized by the software, IF your console is correctly installed and recognized by the computer.

And as you can see, the DJControl Instinct is in the list of natively supported controllers for V8

According to the comparison chart, home users can't use controllers. If they can, I'm sure it's for a limited time.

Can someone help me out? I can't get DJ Instinct to work with Virtual DJ 8. Scratching won't work, and when it does it glitches and signal all together stops working. I then have to exit and restart Virtual to get it to work with the controller again. I am in education and have purchased 12 DJ Instinct controllers I am hoping I have not made a bad choice. I don't want to use DJUCED software.

Thanks

The Herc driver installer is a bit weird. mine didn't work at first either. What I ended up doing was uninstalling the device via windows device manager, unplugged it and plugged it back in. I followed that up with a registry clean up and since then it's been working fine, hope this helps.
