Looking to buy a new controller, and my wallet goes in the direction of the Pioneer DDJ-S1 (good sound quality)

I want 2 Mics, minimum 1 external source that can work independtly from my PC and 2 decks.

As the DDJ-S1 has only two decks, can I switch decks via Mapping to use deck 1 as 3 & 2 as 4 in VDJ ?
I only need occasionally the possibility to swap between decks
If that works I might go for it.

thanks

That mapper is for the T1 ... the S1 is natively supported already. No mapper necessary.

Just one more question.
OK native supported by VDJ but as the DDJ-S1 is designed to work with Itch, do I need to install Itch before it will work with VDJ?
I don't own the unit yet, but I want to be sure that it should work with only ASIO4all driver + VDJ installed.
Don't want to have Itch on my PC.

Somebody can clear this up for me?

just plug it in, should work. might have to change the input/output sound setup.

Please try this :-)

Quote :
For Mac OSX - check the device name of the unit in the Audio/MIDI Setup utility.
You will most likely need to rename the MIDI name of the device to 'DDJ-S1 MIDI'

First, make sure that you are viewing MIDI devices, not audio. Click on the Window menu and choose Show MIDI Window.

Click on the appropriate MIDI device in the list. Then click on Show Info.

Click on the Device Name: box and type in the correct name: DDJ-S1 MIDI

Click APPLY.

Applications-->Utilites-->Audio Midi Setup.
From the top menu, choose to View the MIDI page. Double click on the icon of the Pioneer DDJ S1 and rename it as DDJ-S1 MIDI
