Topic: Mixdeck/Virtual Dj LE - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

A few days ago I purchased a mixdeck, which came with virtual dj LE in the box. I hooked up the mixdeck and installed VDJ, then configured it. (inputs-none outputs-single output soundcard-simple-numark mixdeck) The mixdeck recognizes the songs on each individual decks display, and i can scratch and control music effects, but both the left and right deck play over channel 1, when I crossfade to channel 2 both songs fade out. Am I missing something? The crossfader in the VDJ program works if I move it by mouse but thats it. Also the headphones have the same problem on the mini fader. Also I run a mac, help would be fantastic thanks

I figured it out. The sound has to be on Soundcard - 4-Out
Soundcard Drop-down - Numark MixDeck for it to work.

if you change it in the settings to using a asio driver it will work fine
i have mine running like that it it works well
the only thing that doesnt work in the program is the the crossfader in virtual dj, it doesn't move, but the sound still fades from one deck to another when u use the crossfader on the mixdeck

Thats because its not a MIDI mixer its a hardware mixer, meaning it cant control the program............

The crossfader of the MixDeck is NOT MIDI CAPABLE and will not move the on-screen crossfader in VirtualDJ regardless of whether you are using VirtualDJ LE or the full Pro or Pro trial. It is unfortunately a hardware design limitation of the MixDeck console.

The same applies to the rest of the mixer section of the MixDeck - It is a real audio DJ mixer and is not MIDI capable. Only the CD player sections are MIDI capable.

VirtualDJ LE is limited but otherwise fully functional software. It is NOT a demo. For an overview of the differences, please see http://www.virtualdj.com/products/comparison.html

If you wish to upgrade to the full VirtualDJ Pro, we offer a very generous discount to do so: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

NOTE: If you are using VirtualDJ LE v6, then please upgrade to VirtualDJ LE v7 (Free upgrade) to be able to use the External Mixer option in CONFIG -> Sound Setup: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

What do you have the selectors set at on the MixDeck, Deck, CD, AUX? Where do you have the cable to your speakers coming from, master, booth or record? Do you get sound out of your headphones?

How do you reset hot que points everytime i put a song on that iv used before it has the same que points how do i rest it any help thanks

VirtualDJ always saves the cue points that you have set with the song so that they are available for when you play the song in future (Typically they will always be set in the same place.)

If you do not want to save them, you will need to delete any cue points that you have set before you load the next song (Or exit VirtualDJ.)

(Right-click on the cue markers in the song overview waveform to delete them.)

Make sure that you have the latest firmware installed from: http://www.numark.com/mixdeck

Then go to CONFIG -> Sound Setup and set your sound as follows:

Inputs: None
Outputs: External Mixer
Sound card: Numark (Or 4 out card -> Choose the MixDeck in the drop-down list)

Click APPLY.

Make sure that the channels on the mixer section of the MixDeck are set to PC.

NOTE: If you have set your sound to play out of the speakers of your Mac, then the mixer of the MixDeck will have no effect on this. This is because the MixDeck is a real hardware analogue mixer that is not MIDI capable and cannot control the internal software mixer in VirtualDJ in any way. The MixDeck should always be used with the configuration above and a pair of amplified stereo speakers connected ot the master output on the back.
